CHELSEA, MI - The Chelsea girls varsity swim and dive team turned in a commanding performance on Thursday, defeating Bedford 122-63 behind a slate of dominant finishes and multiple state-qualifying swims. The Bulldogs controlled the tempo from the opening events, but the highlights of the night came from standout individual swims that secured spots at the MHSAA Division 3 State Finals. Standout Performances & State Cuts Brooke Paddock: Put on a clinic across multiple disciplines, earning D3 state-qualifying cuts in both the 100 Butterfly and the 100 Breaststroke. Her versatility provided a major spark and a heavy point swing for the Bulldogs. Ruby Jackson: Sprinted to a D3 state cut in the 50 Freestyle, out-touching the field in one of the night's fastest races to lock in her postseason berth. Chelsea’s depth proved overwhelming throughout the evening, pairing individual state cuts with top-tier finishes in relay events and diving to keep Bedford at bay. The decisive 59-point victory keeps the Bulldogs rolling as they continue to build momentum toward championship season.
