CHELSEA, MI — The Chelsea Varsity Girls Volleyball team opened their home schedule in dominant fashion, sweeping visiting Jackson in three straight sets (25-18, 25-21, 25-20) to secure a statement victory. The Bulldogs showcased a balanced and lethal offensive attack throughout the night, led by Sloane Steele's strong all-around performance with 11 points and 8 kills. Melayna Minyard proved to be a dual-threat asset on the floor, racking up 10 kills and dishing out 11 assists, while Avery Lloyd anchored the distribution with a team-high 14 assists. "I'm just really proud of the girls," Head Coach Erin Dillon said after the match. "I feel like we've been growing the last couple weeks, so to be able to come out here on our home—first home game—and put together a couple of nice sets, it was just a good feeling." Speaking on the team's composure during Jackson's third-set surge, Dillon emphasized the squad's developing mindset. "I just feel like it's trusting the girls, and I see the work that they put in every single day, and I knew that they could do it," Dillon noted. "We talked about how going into that third game, it was all about who we were going to be along with our identity. I think it really spoke volumes to their character."
