Bulldogs Battle: Monday Athletic Roundup

By Jason Morris | Apr 20, 2026 9:11 PM

It was a packed Monday for Chelsea High School athletics, featuring everything from dominant shutouts on the courts and fields to gritty splits on the diamond. Here is how our Bulldogs fared on April 20. Girls Tennis: A Clean Sweep The Varsity Girls Tennis team put on a masterclass against Father Gabriel Richard (FGR), securing a 8-0 victory. The story of the day was Libby Timberlake, who displayed incredible mental toughness. After dropping her opening set 0-6, Timberlake staged a massive comeback, rallying to take the next two sets 6-0 and 6-3 to help seal the shutout. Boys Golf: Standing Tall at Saline The Boys Varsity Golf team traveled to the Saline Invitational and walked away with an impressive 3rd place finish in a competitive field. The Bulldogs posted a team score of 317, anchored by Logan Fansler, who shot a 76. Parker Westcott also turned in a strong performance, carding a 78 for the day. Girls Soccer: Cousino’s Hat Trick Leads the Way It was a clinical performance in Ypsilanti for the Girls Varsity Soccer team, as they cruised to a 4-0 win. Avery Cousino provided the offensive fireworks with a brilliant hat trick, while Logan Schoeneman added a fourth goal to ensure the Bulldogs returned home with a clean sheet. Baseball & Softball: Diamond Updates • Baseball: The Varsity Baseball team showed great resilience in a doubleheader against a talented Saline squad. After dropping the first game 6-1, the Bulldogs bounced back for a 5-3 victory in the nightcap. Gus Herter earned the win on the mound, and Lew Turner provided the spark at the plate with 2 RBIs. • Softball: The Varsity Softball team faced a tough road test at Northville, eventually falling 9-3. Despite the loss, Chloe Barney was a bright spot for the Bulldogs, driving in two of the team's three runs. Boys Lacrosse: Late Rally Falls Short In a physical battle against Skyline, the Varsity Boys Lacrosse team saw their comeback attempt fall just short in an 8-6 loss. The scoring was balanced for Chelsea, with Cody Cox, Jacob Brant, and Jordan Rudolph each netting two goals, but it wasn't quite enough to overcome the Skyline lead. Go Bulldogs!
