The Chelsea varsity girls soccer team put on an offensive clinic Monday night, securing a decisive 5-1 victory over Tecumseh. Led by a stellar individual performance from Avery Cousino, the Bulldogs showcased depth and urgency to move their conference record above .500. Cousino Sets the Pace The Bulldogs' attack found its rhythm midway through the first half when Avery Cousino broke the scoreless tie, slotting home the first goal of the match. Chelsea’s momentum only grew from there; with 16 minutes remaining in the opening half, Cousino struck again to double the lead. Tecumseh managed to punch back just two minutes later, finding the back of the net to cut the Chelsea lead to 2-1. However, that would be the only time the visitors would beat the Bulldog defense. Second Half Surge Chelsea slammed the door shut in the second half, fueled by clinical finishing and set-piece execution: • The Hat Trick: With 25 minutes left on the clock, Cousino completed her hat trick, restoring the two-goal cushion and putting the Bulldogs firmly in control at 3-1. • The Deflection: Just three minutes later, Emma Ruszkiewicz capitalized on a corner kick, expertly deflecting the ball into the net to extend the lead to 4-1. • The Final Blow: Ella Radomski provided the finishing touch, netting Chelsea’s fifth and final goal with only six minutes remaining in regulation. Looking Ahead With the win, Chelsea improves to 2-1 in the SEC White standings. The Bulldogs will look to carry this momentum on the road as they travel to face Jackson this Wednesday. Final Score: Chelsea 5, Tecumseh 1
