Chelsea Varsity Baseball’s Late Push Leads To Series Win Over Lincoln

By GameChanger Media Chelsea defeated Lincoln 2-1 on Thursday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at one in the top of the seventh when Nolan Sciackitano singled, scoring one run. Both teams were strong on the mound. Chelsea pitchers struck out 11, while Lincoln sat down 10. Chelsea got on the board in the first inning after Preston Paoletti singled, scoring one run. The Bulldogs committed an error, which helped Lincoln tie the game at one in the bottom of the fifth. Jax Ichesco earned the win for Chelsea. The hurler surrendered zero hits and one run (zero earned) over three innings, striking out five and walking one. Jackson Sullivan took the loss for Lincoln. The pitcher went one and one-third innings, giving up one run on two hits, striking out none and walking none. Tyson Linde stepped on the hill first for Chelsea. The pitcher allowed two hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out six and walking four. Conner Sindlinger stepped on the bump first for Lincoln. The pitcher gave up six hits and one run over five and two-thirds innings, striking out 10 and walking three. Paoletti went 2-for-4 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Paoletti, Sciackitano, and Nathan Sobiechowski each collected two hits for the Bulldogs. Ichesco stole two bases. Carson Sims and Sullivan each collected one hit for Lincoln.
